There’s really nothing more to write than that.

But….if you want me to write more, I can talk about how this non-Battlestar Galactica watching guy has really taken to the show Caprica. The episodes are compelling and interesting. The plot lines seem immense – you’re not sure where they could go and yet they are buttoned up as well. The characters are three-dimensional – you feel their emotions, you seem things simmering underneath the surface. These are things that one does not usually find in television programming. Add in the captivating Torresani, whom I have slowly fallen in love with thanks to her beautiful visage being plastered on Subways all around the city, and the Caprica universe has found a new fan.

I am absolutely loving the Google home pages featuring Sesame Street. Here’s a link to the official Google Blog about these new Google Doodles.
I posted about Sesame Street yesterday in my A Sides/Posterous section of this blog. I remember watching too much Sesame Street growing up, but fell in love with it during college and studied the history of it. It is truly a remarkable show. The show has changed and adapted as the needs of our children have shifted throughout generations. Watching some of the older episodes, now on DVD, you can see how the show in its first manifestation wouldn’t be on the air today.

It’s unbelievable how many generations of kids have grown up watching this show. I can’t wait to see more of these Google Doodle’s

I was one of the first people I knew that used GMail. I was such an early adopter, that many of my friends thought that Gmail stood for “George Mail.” Still, I was instantly in love – the threaded conversations, the clean interface, the unlimited space – it was everything that any one could ever want from an email provider.

Flash forward all these years to Google Wave. I wanted Google Wave early and, lo and behold, I have it. The problem: No one else does. Sure, I have a handful of friends that use it but it ultimately is proving to be useless without mass adoption. The friends that I do share the luxury of having an account aren’t the friends that I’m collaborating with. I understand Google’s desire to slowly increase the amount of people using it but, since it’s a collaboration tool, it really is useless until a large number of your friends – or at least a large number of people that you do collaborative work with – actually use it.

I’m excited at the possibility of Wave and think it could really be an amazing addition to projects that I have with friends/colleagues/business partners around the world. But, right now, I feel stupid having it – staring at the blank canvas of waves feeling quite alone in the world. It’s hard to enjoy using a collaboration tool when no one you collaborate with uses it….

One of the perks of going to conferences is that you always end up with lots of stuff. Sometimes it’s random stuff – stickers, pamphlets, books, USB drives – other times, it’s awesome things like Creative Suite 4, alcohol, and shoes (not that I’m biased with the last one…). The problem is, when you start going to a bunch of these things, you often end up with duplicate things when only one is needed.

So that’s why I’m giving away an X-Shot. I love the X-Shot. It’s such a simple but awesome tool – helping you take some pretty cool pictures and, if in a pinch, defending yourself from monsters (aka: it seems like it would be an effective weapon). I’ve used the X-shot to take some fun pictures, get new angels on the same ol’ standby pix, and just try different things.

If you don’t believe, you should try it. How? Well – one lucky winner will get the extra X-shot that I received for being a speaker at Izeafest. X-Shot was a sponsor of Izeafest – along with a certain shoe company – and their people are great. They’re always active and on the ground supporting the blogger community – so I figured I’ll help them out by trying to spread the word. Comment below for your chance to win. Contest ends Friday and 11:59pm Mountain Time.

I didn’t forget about the giveaway: Grace won based on a random number generator from Random.org. Expect an email, miss! I’m actually planning on doing another one with some of the swag I got at conferences and a few books that I recently have read and are done with. I’m trying to be more of a minimalist and might as well reuse/recycle some of these things that I happen across.

As I was walking home today, I was bouncing around to Peter Bjorn and John’s “Writer’s Block” album. It was a cool fall day and I was totally enveloped in the music. As I walked into my house, I took my headphones out and my world got quiet. I looked at my iPhone and headphones and smiled…

In May, I received a few pairs of headphones from Skullcandy as a gift. I’ve used them every day since and they look just as new as they do in the picture above – which was taken right after I opened the package. I absolutely love these things so much so, that I was visibly saddened when I realized I left these at work over my long weekend trip to Izeafest. As someone who has a deep and profound love of music and currently a pedestrian, a good pair of headphones are mana from the gods. I can’t imagine living without my Skullcandy earbuds.

Giveaway: Of the things I did receive from Skullcandy, I do not use the Double Agent pair. I opened the package and tried them out and, while they had great sound quality, the fact that the music was run off an SD card and couldn’t be hooked up to your iPhone wasn’t for me. So here’s the deal – if you comment on my blog, I’ll pick a winner at random and send the Double Agents (My pair is lime green) to you. Consider it a gift to my loyal readers.
