// About @GeorgeGSmithjr

George G Smith Jr is a blogger, social strategist, and digital native.   George graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a degree in Communications and a minor in African Studies.  Having always had a passion for blogging, he has blogged professionally and personally since 2000.  In 2008, he created the Social Media Communications and Marketing program for Crocs, Inc, which he oversaw until late 2009. At Crocs, he used Social Media to galvanize an already strong community around the brand – using the communication tools to educate and inspire the loyal fan base and create brand ambassadors wherever he could. Outside his work at Crocs, he has worked with many bloggers to educate them and help them work more closely with brands.  He has spoken at SXSW, Izeafest, Blog World Expo and other professional conferences on the relationships between brands and bloggers, as well as other topics.

Beyond his professional endeavors, George is passionate about many different interests.  His personal blog – NoSenseOfTime.org – encapsulates a myriad of interests from music and art to fashion, sports, and technology.  Being a Digital Native, you can find George active on various outposts on the Internet – especially Twitter – where you can strike up a conversation about anything.
