Reclaiming The Cup

Graduation Weekend has come and gone and, with students returning to their respective homes for the summer, it’s nice to start reclaiming the things that bring me peace in Boulder.   One of those places is The Cup – my favorite coffee shop, located on the East end of the Pearl Street Mall.

I’m not sure why The Cup is my favorite coffee shop in Boulder.  In fact, this town is filled with so many amazing coffee shops it would be tough to really classify any as better than the rest.  Yet, The Cup is my favorite.  Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I spent a lot of time here when I first moved to Boulder with my friend Meghann, or that our friend Jeanie worked here for a bit.  I don’t know, but with more tables empty as students no longer fill it with their laptops, thesis papers, and studying – I feel an ease return to my life.

The next few months will bring a lot of change to my life here in Boulder.  It’s nice to know that The Cup will be a nice constant refuge from everything.  At least until next fall when the students come back…

For me, it was the space in that "secret but not really a secret" back room. And when they added that telephone booth that people could take their calls in. Plus the fonts on the menu chalk board are likable. I miss meeting up at the Cup – enjoy it for the both of us :)
