I've been through dozens of pairs in the quest for the holy grail of earbuds... ER-4 by Etymotic Research - have the best noise canceling and a really flat sound... the best for noise isolation and blocking stuff out in planes and noisy offices. Shure SE-530 - have the best sound and comfort of any earbuds I've tried. Silky smooth, can listen to for HOURS with no fatigue. Very close to a "Hi Fi" listening experience... but a little bit bulky cable isn't the best for stuff like running. Expensive but worth saving for.
